Pnn Memocore

Since 2005, Pnn Medical has had successful cooperation with leading research institutions, in particular Aalborg University Hospital. The aim of this cooperation has been to explore the possibility of using existing Memokath™ stent technology as an aim point in connection with radiotherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer.

The background for the Memocore™ stent marker is a clearly unmet need - the need for a clearly visible 3D marker that can used in connection with External Beam Radiation Treatment (EBRT) - with no migration and which is easy to insert and remove, in other words, uniquely a reversible marker. The concept is innovative and unique, since Memocore™ stent marker is the only truly 3D marker which can used for External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT) for treatment of cancer.

In November 2009, Pnn Medical A/S obtained CE marking for the prostate indication, which is the first in a series of future indications for the product named Memocore™.

Clinical data has laid the foundation for a separate business unit and the company Pnn Memocore Aps has been established. The company will operate as a subsidiary within the group with the mandate to commercialize and further develop the Memocore™ product.  Management and staff have been identified and the subsidiary will be in operation from Q2 2010.
